Who We Are

CompressImg.in was built by a small team of web developers who were frustrated by image compressors that require account sign-ups, show intrusive ads, impose file-count limits, or — worst of all — upload your images to a remote server before compressing them. We wanted a tool that was genuinely instant, genuinely private, and genuinely free.

Launched in 2024, CompressImg.in performs all compression directly in your browser using the HTML5 Canvas API. Your images never leave your device. There are no accounts to create, no watermarks on downloads, and no daily limits to worry about.

We support JPEG, JPG, PNG, and WEBP formats and offer dedicated tools for every common target file size — from 5 KB all the way up to 300 KB — so you always compress to exactly what a form, portal, or platform requires.

Our Mission

Our mission is to make image optimisation effortless for everyone — whether you are a student filling out a competitive-exam registration form, a developer optimising a web application, an e-commerce merchant improving page load speed, or a business owner submitting a KYC document.

Why Browser-Based Compression?

Most image compressors work by uploading your file to their servers, processing it there, and then serving you a download link. This approach has three serious problems:

Privacy risk

Your images may contain sensitive content — personal photos, business documents, proprietary product shots. Uploading them to an unknown server means you have no control over what happens to them.

Speed bottleneck

Upload speed is often the slowest part of your internet connection. Uploading a 5 MB image, processing it remotely, and downloading the result can take 30–60 seconds. Browser-based compression takes 1–2 seconds regardless of your upload speed.

Service dependency

If the server is down, you cannot compress. Browser-based tools work offline after the page loads.
